Class Description: What do improv and freestyle rapping have in common? To do either successfully, you need Confidence, Quick Thinking, and Creativity. The focus of this class is to teach you the principles of freestyle rapping and help you to apply these skills and philosophies to your improv. This class takes the fear out of learning to rap by exploring the ideas behind Swagger, Rhythm, Bar Structure, and Point of View Delivery through fun and low stress exercises. All while cultivating a positive and supportive group environment, allowing students to learn, try, and grow. Whether you’re a musical improviser looking to expand your repertoire or a shy improviser looking to come out of your shell more on stage you have something to gain from signing up today!
Teacher Bio: Shaun Fisher has been performing Hip Hop Improv Comedy in clubs and festivals across the country since 2009. Formerly as a member of North Coast [NY] and currently with 808 [LA] and DopeTown3000 [LA]. Projects he has worked on include Drop The Mic [TBS] Made [MTV], Funny or Die, and College Humor. He can also be heard in podcast form on the “I’m Too Effing High” and “DopeTown3000” Podcasts.
Class sizes are limited. Enrollment is dependent upon availability. If a class fills up you will be promptly contacted with other enrollment options. For enrolled students a confirmation welcome email will be sent 48 before the start of the first class.
