LINEUP:
Ghost Dog
We met at The Second City Hollywood in 2018 where we performed as a house team until the theater shuttered in 2020. Because we had access to coach Frank Caeti and we’re nerds, we kept meeting every week to rehearse as well as plan our inevitable return to the stage.
We do smart and connected ensemble-based play. Ghost Dog develops its own forms with our coach and are currently doing our take on the classic Eventé. We grab an event suggestion from the audience and jump right into the middle of the action. From there we explore whatever tickles our fancy returning to that original scene to see how it might play out with all the new info we just mined. Did someone say, “Multiverse?”
Team: Alene Latimer, Emily Decker, Lance Nealy, Sanjay Rao
Space Heater
Space Heater was formed in Cody Saunders’ backyard in August 2021. The group performs a Town style long form with an opener introducing the characters followed by a variety of styles of scenes between those characters throughout a connected set of locations. Like their humble beginnings, the show highlights how the relationships between what seem like a random collection of people in a town can lead to great laughter and wondrous entertainment.
This group has performed at Westside Comedy Theater as a Resident Team, The Glendale Room and regular shows on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at fanaticSalon. We are directed by Ruby Willman and sometimes work with a few different directors for our group, which has included: Al Garcia, Jason Shotts, Roberto Lewis, and Zach Huddleston. All our actors have a background with Westside Comedy Theater.
Team: Cody Saunders, Jerry Witt, Katrina Lofgren, Laura Ralston, Michael Eisenstein, Nick Kaufman, Surabhi Srivastava, Vickie Eisenstein
Rolland and Rowland
Rolland and Rowland met on the MI stage but it was fate that put them together one night for 25 minutes. Since then, they have been performing together where their loose style and fast-paced choices incorporating multiple relatable but silly characters make for a fun and an electric show!
Team: Rolland Lopez, Patrick Rowland
